Mr. David Hayden has been a lifelong Marlette resident and wanted to stay in the place he has always considered home. It was important for him to teach at the school that he graduated from and has always enjoyed being a part of. He has been with the Marlette Schools for 8 years in the Social Studies department. "Mr. Hayden is a fixture of our school building. He takes great pride in being a Red Raider and cares deeply about students, colleagues, and the community as a whole. Mr. Hayden is willing to go above and beyond and do whatever is needed to 'get the job done' and support those around him" stated Principal Kohler.
He graduated from Marlette, as did his five children, and he's hoping his grandchildren will also become Marlette grads.
"I like interacting with the students and the most rewarding part is getting through to students and being a role model to them. It is rewarding to see students complete tasks and activities they didn't feel they could. I also like that I work with some of the best coworkers that are always willing to help each other," he stated.
Mr. Hayden actually started interacting with Marlette students several years before he entered the District as a teacher. He coached boys and girls soccer from youth leagues through high school. He is currently the boys soccer coach and baseball coach.
