Marlette Elementary School
6230 Euclid Street, Marlette, Michigan 48453
Principal: Jason Vislosky
The Marlette Elementary School houses approximately 500 Kindergarten though sixth grade students.
All K-6 students are assigned to a homeroom teacher where the majority of the student's core academic instruction takes place. Core academic instruction includes math, reading, writing, social studies, and science course work. In addition to the core academic classes, all K-6 students will have an exploratory class each day. Exploratory classes for Kindergarten through sixth grade students include physical education, fine arts, and computers. Fifth and sixth grade students also have the opportunity to take band.
The K-6 staff continually monitor each student's progress in an informal manner. Formal assessments are required of each student three to four times per year in the areas of reading, writing, and math. If a formal assessment identifies a deficiency, the student is provided support services until the deficiency is remediated. Parents are encouraged to contact their child's teacher if they feel more intensive intervention is necessary.
