 Marlette Community Schools will be holding an informational meeting for parents of children who will be eligible to begin Head Start, Pre-School, Young 5’s or Kindergarten this fall. Children must turn three years old on or before December 1, 2016 to enroll in Headstart or Pre-School, and five years old on or before September 1, 2016 to enroll in Young 5's or Kindergarten. The meeting will be held on Tuesday evening, March 1st, at 6:00 p.m. at the Marlette Elementary School Library. Parents and children are encouraged to attend this meeting.



The Marlette School Board voted at their meeting on Monday, January 25, 2016 to allow free admission for all Marlette students K-12 to home sporting events – with the exception of invitationals and state tournaments.

Specifications for this new procedure:

Students in grades 7-12 must show their current school year ID to get into the game.
Students in grades K-6 must show their current school year ID as well as being accompanied by a paying parent/guardian.

 If a student comes to the game without their school ID, it will cost them $5.00 to get in and that $5.00 will then be applied to a new ID card.

If a student has lost their school ID card a new one can be purchased for $5.00

If a student has a current sports pass they can use that for the remainder of the school year.





The Marlette Board of Education is seeking nominations for the 2016 “Friend of Youth”.  The intent of this award is to honor someone from the community who has made a special contribution to youth and youth programs.  The person chosen by the Board will be honored at the Thumb Meet of Champions on Tuesday, May 31, 2016.  Previous honorees include:  Dave Miller, Margaret Burton, Dan & Celina Bowman, John & Diana Cross, Steve Ellis, Jill Bell, Phil &Peggy Macumber, Linda Warner, Shelley Roland, Fred & Michele Mroczek, Rick Turner, Jim & Doreen Ross, Andy & Cindy Keller, Roy “Bubba” Armstrong, Marty Blackmer, Duane Lange, Betty Mills, John & Karen Campbell, Art & Barb Woods, James Kelledes, Nick Miu, Harold Titus, Terry Reid, Dale & LeRoy Moshier, Dave Phillips, Julie Wilson, and Mike Kiley.


Please submit your nominations in writing by Tuesday, March 1, 2016, to the Superintendent’s Office, 6230 Euclid St, Marlette, MI  48453.
